Ian Smith is the Director of the NSW Office of Regional Economic Development. Ian has over 20 years' experience in international trade and investment across a broad range of industries and multiple disciplines. In his current role, Ian leads the delivery of regional industry programs across NSW to maximise investment, build capacity and enhance employment growth.

Scott has over 20 years' experience across a range of industries, working for multinational corporations and start-ups in Australia and Asia. He chairs the Hunter Business Attraction Committee and is a member of the Central Coast Economy Taskforce.

Scott leads a team of dedicated Business Development Managers and Project Officers focused on supporting businesses to establish or expand operations in the Hunter Central Coast region.

Nigel McKinnon has over 20 years' experience in regional development. Widely regarded as an innovator in this field, he is founder, chair and chief architect of Advantage Wollongong that is setting a new standard in local economic development practice. Nigel has extensive private sector experience in both manufacturing and services, and has facilitated over 200 major business investment projects in a range of industry sectors.

Margaret is passionate about regional development and has worked and lived in Regional NSW for many years. She has worked in a range of roles with regional airlines, tourism and state government. This has included strategic development, research and marketing, and service delivery. Margaret has developed strategic relationships across government, industry, academia and the community sector.

Craig Jenkins has more than 16 years working for the NSW Government in regional development. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of business attraction and investment, infrastructure delivery, innovation, community development, disaster recovery, policy and program development. Craig also has private sector experience in finance, taxation and auditing.

Ben has a background in agriculture and 15 years’ experience working in the financial services industry in the UK and Australia. He has been working with the NSW Government to support the delivery of regional development programs, business attraction and investment initiatives, and infrastructure projects across Central West NSW for over five years.

Liz has extensive experience in land use planning and environmental management. She has worked in all levels of government, with a particular focus on the local government sector across the south east of NSW. She has a background in carbon reduction and climate change adaptation. Liz is passionate about helping people in regional areas realise their innovative business ideas.

North Coast

Louise McMeeking was appointed to the position of Director North Coast for Regional NSW in 2017. Previous to this Louise has held positions of Director in NSW State & Regional Development, Dept of Industry, and Dept of Premiers and Cabinet with responsibility for initiating, coordinating and facilitating the delivery of major projects in the North Coast, including value add agribusiness, manufacturing, tourism and other enabling infrastructure.

Prior to this, Louise held a number of senior positions in the NSW Public Service including health where strong relationships and networks have been established across all levels of Government and business.

Louise leads a dedicated and experienced team working across multiple projects in a high volume work environment right across the North Coast of NSW.
