Project overview

Council is determined to make the Richmond Valley the industry hub of the Northern Rivers through the activation of this precinct.

The Namoona Industrial precinct has been identified as a key industrial expansion zone in the Northern Rivers. Not only do we see the A$14m upgrade and expansion to the Northern Rivers Livestock Exchange, the Namoona Waste and Resource Recovery Centre and the Northern Co-operative Meat Company, the precinct is also home to DTM Timber and Riverina Stock Feeds. Council is actively pursuing new technology investments in the waste-to-energy sector for this precinct.

The Richmond Valley community through its Community Strategic Plan has identified economic development as the cornerstone for a prosperous community. Council has been given a mandate to create an environment which encourages new business and supports existing operators, which will cultivate the right conditions for local employment opportunities and growth.

The development of industrial land will secure future investments by establishing a strong competitive advantage for businesses locating to the Richmond Valley, in particular manufacturing businesses, with markets beyond the local economy.
