BAE Systems Australia will boost employment in the Hunter area with the addition of 55 new skilled engineering jobs, thanks to the NSW Government's $250 million Jobs Plus Program.

The new roles will be brought onboard to support the creation of an additional set of regionally focused bays and increasing the number of international aircraft that can be maintained at Williamtown.

BAE Systems Australia is focussing on increasing their highly skilled workforce in the Hunter. STEM-focused roles currently make up 60 per cent of BAE Systems' employees and the addition of new professionals will drive benefits for the area through enhanced networking, information exchange and skills development

The NSW Government has currently invested more than $16 million to develop infrastructure and skills in the Hunter region to strengthen its defence and aerospace industry through Astra Aerolab. Located at the heart of the Williamtown Special Activation Precinct, Astra Aerolab is where world leading defence, research, aerospace and industry partners converge to elevate performance.
