The NSW Government is committed to Net Zero 2050 with the release of a new plan that slashes current emissions by 2030.

Under the proposed policies, The Net Zero: Stage 1 Implementation Update will attract more than $37 billion in private sector investment, support more than 9000 jobs and help households save on their electricity bills.

In particular, regional NSW will reap the rewards of the emerging industries in the coming decades. Regional NSW has world-class modern manufacturing, minerals and agriculture and is home to the skills, infrastructure and resources needed as the demand for low emissions technologies like batteries and hydrogen grows. The entire state will benefit from the economic and employment opportunities in low carbon technologies.

NSW is one of the first states to commit to net zero emissions by 2050 and are on track to double the economy and halve emissions by 2030. NSW's emissions are projected to fall by 47-52% on 2005 levels by 2030 under independently peer reviewed modelling.
