The world is decarbonising, and green hydrogen will play a major role in achieving global net-zero goals.
NSW has the potential to become a global hydrogen superpower by supplying the world’s increasing demand for clean fuels and zero-emissions products. The state brings nation-leading policy to its natural advantages, a deep talent pool, and extensive infrastructure to create a clear pathway to cost-competitive hydrogen and global-scale projects. There is a significant opportunity for a green hydrogen value chain in NSW, with an estimated $3 billion in annual market revenues by 2030.
The path to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions has the potential to drive the development of a 170 million tonne (MtH2eq) global clean hydrogen market within the next six years.
